Getting down and dirty at Burger King

Earlier this week, Miss L and I visited daddy at work...she was able to meet a few colleauges prior to heading over to Burger King for a quick lunch.

After I finished my sandwich (the new "California Whopper Jr" - which is very delicious), I happened to pull the blanket off of Miss L as she was beginning to fuss and was shocked to see a lovely yellow-ish substance on her onesie at her waistline. So, we leave my lunch and bee line straight to the ladies room. But this ladies room didn't have a changing table (look at my surprised face, afterall it was a BK)...so we were forced to change in the back trunk of my SUV...on the coldest day yet in the first 45 days of existence.

Lone and behold - it was a complete blowout, the kind that makes a mom want to literally cut off the onesie as to not get "stuff" on her hair and face while attempting to get the darn thing off. Luckily this new momma had a large ziploc stored in the diaper bag prepared for occasions like this (which are beyond the imagination when first assembling the new diaper bag contents). In goes everything - diaper, jeggings, onesie- and we quickly re-dressed in the emergency onesie stored in the diaper bag.
Daddy helped finish the dressing and we got on the road back in the warm car.

In the end of my pregnancy, I googled what exactly do you put in this cute diaper bag that I so carefully selected. Here is what I ended up including in mine:
  • Diapers (at least 3), wipes, and changing mat
  • Burp cloths (at least 3)
  • Tissues/napkins
  • Bib
  • Scented plastic bags to put the dirty diapers in when you can't find a garbage
  • Ziploc bags to put all dirty things in while on the road
  • Nursing cover (mine is from UdderCovers.com, use promo code "newborn" for a freebie)
  • Extra cloths for Miss L
  • Camera
  • Water bottle

World Kindness Day

Last week was World Kindness Day and I think this date has never been more relevant than after the U.S. election and going into the holidays...
