Last week was World Kindness Day and I think this date has never been more relevant than after the U.S. election and going into the holidays. I have been shocked by the messages in our media about unfollowing, blocking or ceasing relationships with friends and family if there is a variance of candidate voting. I find it interesting that voting seems to be more public and not a private matter these days. I am more disappointed that someone may not wish to maintain a friendship or relationship due to a difference in opinion. The friend could be the most supportive friend for a decade but one vote of opposing opinion can flush that love, care, support and compassion down the drain - it just seems so unkind and an oxymoron of the goal of humanity.
November is an organic reminder to count our blessings and World Kindness Day brings me back to August 2023 when I was chosen as one of the Top 40 under 40 with Apple Leisure Group Vacations at their first ever "Kindness Conference." The time spent at the gorgeous Secrets Moxche Resort on personal and professional development, philanthropic initiatives in Mexico and transformative change will forever impact how I view kindness and our world.
Kindness to ourselves * Kindness to others * Kindness in travel
Ourselves - self-care, wellness and professional development
Others - pay it forward + give back to to those in need
Travel - passion and respect for different cultures, destinations and our peers in the industry
All wonderful and relevant ways applicable to any industry and enjoying a life of harmony.
